What makes a pool towel different from a room towel?

It leaves the building. A room towel goes from a cupboard to a bathroom and back to the same laundry. A pool towel is carried out to a deck, a lawn or a beach. It sits in the sun and in pool water. Then the guest brings it back to a desk, or it never comes back.

Three things follow from that. All three sit on the order, not in the cloth. The towel has to look like pool stock, not room stock. The quantity has to allow for the pieces that walk off. The shade has to be one you are happy to see in daylight.

How do you tell pool stock from room stock?

Weave a stripe into the towel, or give the towel its own shade. We do both, and we print neither.

We weave a satin stripe on the loom at 1, 2 or 3 cm, as part of the cloth. That is our answer to a cabana stripe request: a banded towel that looks like deck stock, not like the plain white linen upstairs.

The second route is one solid shade against a Pantone number. A coloured deck towel is easy to spot from a distance. It is also easy to keep out of the white wash. You can have both. Plain white in the rooms and a striped or coloured towel outside is two lines on one order. Bulk white pool towels keep the deck in the same wash as the rooms.

Which weight suits hotel pool towels handed out at a desk?

Anything from 400 to 700 GSM. The figure sits on this line on its own. It need not follow the bath towels on the same order.

Weight counts twice on a deck. The towel is large, and a deck holds hundreds at once. So each step up the range puts more cotton into every towel. The pile your staff shift on a busy afternoon then weighs more.

A lower figure gives a lighter towel to carry and stack, and more towels on a trolley. Your own issue figures settle which way to go. We weave the number you write and quote the line on it.

What size is a pool towel?

Whatever the length and the width on your order say. Neither pool towel nor beach towel fixes a size. So both figures have to come from your stock list.

If the towels replace stock you already hold, post one over. We measure it and weigh it here. That settles the line faster than a size name.

How the order allows for towels that go missing

Through the quantity you put on the line. Loss is a figure out of your own records. No specification can work it out for you.

A desk hands this towel out and takes it back, so your own count for a season is the one that matters. Send the figure you want to hold and we quote the line at it.

Your own label goes into every towel, and you set the pack count. That is what lets a desk check stock out and back in again.

Where the pool line sits in the rest of the order

Beside the linen for the rooms, on one quotation. The bath linen range carries the bath towels, hand towels, face cloths, mats and robes. The deck line can run a stripe while all of those stay plain white. One pool towel supplier then covers the deck and the rooms.

A pool area is rarely restocked on its own, so the bed linen range can go on the same quotation. Figures the table leaves out belong in your own specification.
