What does towel GSM actually mean for your order?

GSM is the weight of the cloth over one square metre. We weave these towels between 400 and 700 GSM. You name the figure on each line of your order.

Lower in that range the pile is shorter, and each piece leaves the dryer sooner. Higher in it the pile is deeper, and the piece stays heavier when wet. Around 550 sits between the two. Our towel GSM guide works through how to choose a band.

Can you match towels we already buy?

Yes, and the quickest way is to post us a towel. Send one piece out of the stock you want to match. We weigh it and measure it here, which settles what a photograph or a product name cannot.

With nothing to send, give us the figures instead: weight, finished size, colour reference and how the ends and edges are finished. Either way, we record those figures against your account. The towels you order two years from now are made to that record.

What are towels called in the UK, US and Australia?

A towel is the same piece in every market. The word changes, not the product. We cut to the measurements on your order, so your own term has no effect on what we make.

The small square towel for the face is a washcloth to buyers in the United States and Canada, a face cloth in the United Kingdom, and a face washer in Australia and New Zealand.

A bath sheet is the larger version of the bath towel. When both go on one order, each carries its own finished size. Pool towel and beach towel mean the same piece here. Send the size and where it is used, and we price it as one line.
