A duvet cover is a washable fabric bag that a duvet slides into. The filled duvet then stays out of the wash when the bed is stripped. Hotel groups, hospitals, care homes, laundries and retail chains order bulk duvet covers. They order by the room standard, not by the bed.

We cut the cover to the duvet it goes over, in the fabric, thread count, weave and colour you name. Buyers order it as a quilt cover in Australia and New Zealand, and as a comforter cover in the United States. The spec sheet is the same.

Your agreed spec stays on file here. A second order for the same room standard is cut to the measurements of the first. Duvet covers for hotels in a group then match from one property to the next. Anything the table does not list is made to your specification.

What size should a duvet cover be?

The size of the duvet inside it. A cover is not cut to the mattress. Measure the duvet flat, across and down, and send us those two measurements.

Then tell us how loose or close you want the cover. That one choice changes how the bed looks once it is made up.

A close cut keeps the filling pushed into the corners, so the top lies flat. A looser cut lets staff drop the duvet in faster, but it leaves spare fabric at the foot of the bed. Tell us which you want, or send us a duvet and we work it out.

Which closure should a duvet cover have?

Buttons or a zip. We make both, so the choice sits with your housekeeping and laundry teams.

A zip closes the whole end in one movement. That is quick on a busy floor. The zip also has to survive commercial washing and pressing. A broken slider takes the cover out of rotation until someone replaces it.

Buttons have no moving parts. Your own team can sew a loose button back on, and the cover stays in service. But staff have to fasten and check every button each time they make the bed. Tell us which your teams use, and we make the covers that way.

Is a duvet cover the same as a quilt cover or a comforter cover?

Yes. One product, three names, one spec sheet.

A UK buyer puts a duvet cover over a duvet. In Australia and New Zealand that duvet is a quilt or a doona, so the cover is a hotel quilt cover. Laundries there order wholesale quilt covers for the same beds. In the United States and Canada the filled layer is a comforter, and the cover over it is a comforter cover. In every case the cover is the unfilled outer layer, and the filling stays inside.

Which fabric and weave suit a duvet cover?

Choose by weight and by finish. The cover is the largest single panel in the room. So it is the heaviest item for your laundry to dry and press. It is also the widest area of colour on the bed.

A higher polyester share in polycotton dries quicker and comes off the press flatter. 100% cotton breathes better under a filled duvet. Microfiber is the lightest of the three to handle in volume.

The weave then decides the surface. Percale is matte and hard wearing. Sateen carries a sheen across the whole panel. That shows more on a cover than on a pillowcase.

Who orders duvet covers in bulk?

Buyers who wash the cover far more often than the duvet inside it. One duvet can sit under several covers in rotation. So an order for wholesale duvet covers rarely matches the bed count.

Hotels and serviced apartments, ordering hotel duvet covers to one spec for the duvets already in the building.
Wards and residential rooms, where a solid colour is set per floor and repeated on every reorder.
Laundries, which add commercial duvet covers to hire stock and need them to press like the rest.
Retail chains, where the cover is a shelf line and the packing matters as much as the cover.

The bedding it covers and the sheets beneath it. We quote the cover unfilled. The duvet or comforter inside is a separate line on the order.

Put the cover on the same fabric and colour reference as your fitted sheets and flat sheets. The bed then looks like one set. Protectors, toppers and the rest of the bed linen range are made from the same fabric list.

Ordering and Export

Minimum order: One 20ft container. You can mix products in the same container, as long as the order fills it and each product runs at three to four thousand pieces or more.
Australia and New Zealand: We hold stock there as well, and hospitals, laundries and accommodation groups order from it. Smaller orders can ship from that stock. Ask us what is in the warehouse.
Shipping terms: FOB Karachi Port. CIF or CNF on request.
Payment terms: LC or TT.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you supply the duvet as well as the cover?

They are two separate products. This page quotes the unfilled cover. Filled duvets and comforters go on their own lines of the same order.

Can one duvet cover fit duvets of different sizes?

Not well. A duvet that is too small leaves empty fabric at the corners. One that is too large presses against the seams. Put every duvet size on the quotation separately, measured from that duvet.

Are duvet covers quoted per piece or per set?

Per piece. Housekeeping may call a cover, a sheet and two pillowcases one set. But each item has its own size, fabric and quantity. So each gets its own line on the quotation.

Why do our duvets bunch up inside the cover?

Almost always because the cover is cut looser than the duvet needs. Measure the duvet itself, across and down. Then order the cover to those figures, with only the room you want around them.
