Bed Linen
Satin Stripe Bed Linen for Hotels and Laundries
Satin stripe is a weave, not a single product. We weave it into the cloth at 1, 2 or 3 cm. A satin stripe fitted sheet, a flat sheet, a duvet cover and a pillowcase can all carry one stripe width.
The stripe comes from the weave, not from added colour. So every item stays one colour throughout. The bed looks patterned, and the stock still washes as plain white linen.

What do you choose on satin stripe bed linen?
You choose
Four things. The stripe width, the cloth it is woven into, and the items that carry it. You also choose whether the stripe matches the ground or takes a shade of its own.
Fabric, thread count and weave are the same here as on the plain lines. So one cloth reference can cover striped and plain stock on one order. Anything outside the table goes into your own written specification.

What is a satin stripe?
A band of satin weave running through a plain ground. Inside the band the yarn floats across the surface. It catches the light differently from the cloth beside it. Your eye reads that as a stripe.
Nothing is added to the face of the fabric. The stripe comes from the way the threads cross on the loom. It is the same colour and the same fibre as the rest of the sheet. So it cannot fade at a different rate from the ground.
An order written as hotel stripe bedding means this woven band, not a print. That suits a property that wants a pattern on the bed but buys plain white stock. The linen stays one colour through a commercial wash.
What changes between 1, 2 and 3 cm?
The scale of the pattern, not the construction. All three widths are woven the same way and carry the same fabric and thread count choices.
A 1 cm stripe sits close together and looks almost like texture from the doorway. A 3 cm stripe is a wider band, with fewer bands across the panel. It reads as a clear line.
The same width reads differently on satin stripe pillowcases and on a duvet cover. The cover panel is far larger. If the look matters to your room standard, see it on a finished piece first.
Satin stripe, sateen or dobby?
All three are woven in one colour. The difference is what the loom draws.
A satin stripe runs in straight bands at a set width along the cloth. Dobby weaves small figures and geometric repeats into the ground. Choose dobby for a pattern that is not a band. Sateen carries one sheen across the whole panel.
Which items can carry the stripe?
Every woven item on the bed. Flat sheets, fitted sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases come off the same cloth. Satin stripe sheets and covers are cut from one roll, so the stripe runs through the whole set.
Towels are terry. The nearest match there is a woven satin band at the header, not a stripe through the cloth. Where the bathroom follows the bedroom, that band goes on the towel line of the same order.
How do you keep the stripe matching across a set?
Put one stripe width and one fabric on every line of the order. A 2 cm stripe on a satin stripe duvet cover will not match a 1 cm stripe on the pillowcase. Satin stripe bed sheets ordered later have to repeat that width too. A satin stripe duvet set is quoted as cover, sheets and cases on separate lines.
We hold the spec you agree. An order placed a year later is woven to the same width, fabric and thread count. If you are adding to stock you already hold, send one piece of it. We read the construction straight from the cloth.
Can the stripe be a shade of its own?
Yes. The stripe can be woven in the shade of the ground, or against a Pantone reference you send.
A stripe in the ground shade keeps the linen one colour. It then runs with the rest of your white stock. A stripe in a second shade is a colour decision. Agree it on a finished piece before the reference goes onto your file.
Who orders satin stripe bedding?
Buyers who want the bed to look specified without leaving plain stock behind.
- Hotels and serviced apartments, where hotel satin stripe bedding runs one stripe width across the group.
- Commercial laundries, adding wholesale satin stripe bedding to hire stock that still runs with the white rotation.
- Care homes, where a stripe lifts the bed and the linen still takes a high temperature wash.
- Retail and contract buyers, packing the striped set as a shelf line under their own label.
What else is quoted beside the striped set?
The rest of the bed, cut from the same cloth. Flat sheets, fitted sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases are all quoted with the stripe width you choose.
Percale, sateen and dobby lines sit in the same bed linen range. Striped stock for one floor and plain stock for another is two lines on one quotation, not two suppliers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the stripe wash out?
No. The stripe is woven into the cloth, not laid onto the surface. There is no added colour to come away. The stripe wears at the same rate as the fabric around it.
Can you match satin stripe linen we already buy?
Yes. One piece is enough. We measure the width off it and read the cloth from the weave. If you cannot send a piece, give us the width in centimetres. Then add the blend, the thread count and the Pantone number for the ground.
Our market asks for a test report on the fabric. Can you supply one?
Tell us the standard or test report your market needs, and we arrange it with your order.
Send the stripe width, the fabric and thread count, and the items you want it woven into. Each striped line comes back priced against those entries.
